Respect of nature

When visitors walk around the vineyard of ARPENTS DU SOLEIL, the beauty of the  site is immediately apparent together with the general feeling of a harmonious balance with nature. Everything is done to preserve the nature and even to expand it. 
The natural vegetation is similar to more southern regions with the presence of wild oregano, orchids and home to rare butterflies and lizards.


Grass grows between the rows of vines and one can see seasonal wild flowers and cultivated roses trimming the edges of the vines. The planting of large hedgerows and various other shrubbery and vegetation are all a means of improving and preserving the bio-diversity of the area.


Thanks to the micro fauna and flora that thrive there, and to the microclimate the need to use pesticides on the vines is absolutely minimal. Therefore no weedkiller, acaricide, insecticide, artificial anti-rot product, or fertilizer are used. Likewise in the cellar, winemaking practices are conducted with the same respect and not with any technological excess. So the wines are neither chaptalized nor filtered. Hence there maybe some light visible deposits in the wine, these guarantee the wine’s authenticity and in time will develop the aromas of its specific terroir.
